INLEAD Alliance Partner: IMA-HBI

Indian Medical Association (IMA), established in 1928, is the only representative, national voluntary organisation of Doctors of Modern Scientific System of Medicine, which looks after the interest of doctors as well as the well being of the community at large. IMA constituted the Hospital Board of India – (IMA-HBI) with the objective of helping the hospitals in preparing the medical standards, providing uniform treatment, addressing Human Capital related issues pertaining to the Healthcare Industry and improvement of public Health and Medical Education in India.

With a realization that improvement of healthcare infrastructure across the nation is critically dependent on the availability of trained and skilled personnel in Healthcare Administration and the acute shortage of skilled manpower with experience and exposure to best practices in Healthcare Administration, the requisition of a structured and directed training program exclusively for Healthcare professionals became imperative.

To address the acute shortfall in the talent pool, in a pioneering effort, IMA-HBI has partnered with Indian institute of Learning and Advanced Development (INLEAD) to jointly create, administer and certify an exclusive training Program for Healthcare Administration professionals. The alliance is aimed at bringing together the expertise of veterans from the Healthcare and professional education Industry to jointly create a comprehensive training PG Diploma program deliberated as per the requirements of Healthcare industry and delivered with latest and contemporary pedagogic methodology. The alliance has resulted in Post Graduate Diploma in Healthcare Administration: An exclusive program providing valuable training to graduate students transform their human potential to gainfully employable human capital with a high investment index helping them being gainfully employed in the Healthcare Industry.

IMA-HBI will ensure 6 months of professional exposure to the participating students with on-job training assignments at IMA-HBI affiliate Hospitals dealing with more real-life situations than mere pedantic teaching in the classroom. The program will be facilitated by a team of specially selected faculty, senior academicians with industry experience, recruiters and successful Healthcare Administrators with relevant academic exposure. Together, they will have the authority of theory and practice to deliver the demanding curriculum.

INLEAD Shines Again

Brand INLEAD is just getting bigger and better day by day. Last year INLEAD had made its mark by sending students in Commonwealth Games. In CWG games students were hired by different event companies and they were all given big responsibilities in the organization of the overall event. Students of last year batches were anxious and excited to showcase their talents and skills they have learned in the class by facing the real time situations like the opening and closing ceremonies.
As India is growing at a tremendous pace and after successfully organizing the Commonwealth games many international organizers are viewing India as a great potential for rising in the events industry which ultimately will reflect in INDIA’s GDP. Keeping this in mind JPSI (Jaypee Sports International) is bringing Formula 1 to India on 30th October. With two Indian drivers and one Indian team in the mix of things the craze of F1 is touching all time high.

INLEAD is all set to make its mark again with this F1 event. Through CIA (Corporate Industry Alliance) INLEAD has associated itself with different companies involving the hospitality and facility services and as well as the event companies. These companies have selected the events, facility management and the hospitality students to do the respective jobs. Events students would be helping in overall successful organization of the event while the hospitality and facility management students would be providing the best hospitality services to the esteemed guests who all will be coming on 30th of October. Students from INLEAD are very fortunate to get an amazing chance to be part of this event and gain some practical exposure as well.

So INLEAD wishes all the students ALL THE BEST to do well and make INLEAD proud once again.

Importance of OJT in Employability

Now colleges are coming up with the Internships or On Jobs Training (OJT) during the graduation/post graduation stage where students can apply the learning’s from academics in the real world. Through this they would be learning in a practical way and hence would be enhancing their skill sets which are needed for employability. Through OJT’s students would be getting Exposure (of the real world), Confidence (of facing real situations) and they would be doing Networking (making contacts) for themselves. OJT’s would also help them understand what are their real strengths and weaknesses.

Inlead situated in Gurgaon is one such institute which follows this pattern. They have divided their course module in four quarters. In quarter one student would be learning the basic concepts, depending on the course they would choose. Then in quarter two they would go for their OJT’s. Then in quarter three students will further enhance his academic knowledge and finally in quarter four they would either be having pre placements or the final paid internships.

This is in fact the USP of INLEAD Institute. Most Institutes provide Internship at the end of the course but INLEAD would be providing it two times just to provide an extra edge to its students in terms of Exposure and Confidence. INLEAD always motivates its students and makes them believe that they can lead their way through failures and achieves the desired success that they are looking for. It makes them ready to face real time tough situations in the Corporate World.

Brand Management, Want to sustain brand, diversify it

On 19th September Inleaders of July EMPR batch were privileged to attend the industry expert session given by Mr Prakash Chandra Mishra of Wizcraft International. He holds a designation of Account director, where he handles the overall image of Brand Wizcraft in the market. It was a fun Interactive session where he shared his knowledge with us on Brand Equity.
Mr. Prakash began his lecture by telling that how brand sustain its value in the market. According to him Digital marketing is the most important aspect of brand marketing and has gradually evolved a lot in recent 4 -5 years. It is the cheapest and the most effective method of hitting the target audience. During the interaction students came to know that WPP (Wire and plastic products) and PUBLICIS GROUPE are considered to be world’s top communication agencies. They both use Integrated Marketing Approach to help build a brand name in the market.
One another cheap and effective way of doing brand promotions is Public Relations. PR is simply unbiased way of communication which helps a brand in showing its credibility in the market and thereby gaining the essential trust from their target audience.
During the interaction one of the students ask that advertising is also considered as a good way of building a brand. On this Mr. Prakash said that yes it is a good way but it is always considered as a biased approach because Company valo ne ad agency ko paise die hote hai for doing their ad”.
Then he talked about brand equity. In layman terms brand equity can be defined as Goodwill of a brand which has been created in the market. Rapport of a brand is not created in just a day or two, it takes a lot of hard work and duration as well. ITC, GE, IBM, Godrej, Uniliver and Xerox all these brands are very old and they have seen success because of the diversification that these companies had gone under as they grow old and old. So Diversification is the necessity of every Brand. By diversification he means companies needs to have different and innovative products in their kitty rather than concentrating on just one. Brand equity can only be measured based on the product in the market and how easily that can be recalled in the minds of consumer.

On Job Training (OJT) in INLEAD

With a fresh mind full of enormous amount of theoretical knowledge comes a 3 month on the job training which is a very unique aspect of the curriculum taught at INLEAD. The on job training gives us a chance to experiment our theoretical learning in a real world scenario. Its helps us enhance our skills and gain a better understanding of the concepts. We get a chance to see and go through challenges that are faced in working and while performing different tasks on the job. In this on the job training we work in different departments and figure out which suits our personality and caliber the most. It provides us with a clear understanding on what we expect from our future in our respective fields. We get a chance to figure out the lacking skills and things that we need to work on to become a complete package for the industry we opt to work in. This unique aspect of our curriculum helps us explore our strengths and work on our weakness before we step out in the world to face the real world scenario away from the shelters of our faculty and institute.

My INLEAD experience will stay with me for the life time, guiding me to excel in my career aspirations. The teaching methodology and the practical exposure at INLEAD are unique and have been developed keeping in mind the industry requirements and that’s what makes INLEAD stand out in the crowd.

The program itself is designed in such a way that during our internships we get a chance to be a part of the corporate world and know how the industry actually works. This really helped me prepare for my Final Placement Interviews and got me placed as Manager Operations in G4S Facility (India) P. Ltd.
INEAD Management and the Office of Student Affairs are exceptionally supportive and guide us throughout our time at the Institute. Personally, I think that INLEAD campus is beyond amazing, it is facilitated with all the latest amenities and the architecture is fabulous. With such a splendid Institute, I am proud to say that I am a part of INLEAD.

My Success Story at INLEAD

Hats off to INLEAD! INLEAD rocks!

It was an immense pleasure and a unique experience to be a part of INLEAD as a post graduate student of Corporate Administration & Facility Management Program. The whole Program is conducted keeping in mind that the Industry needs professionals who are not only trained in the theoretical understanding but also have an exposure of the corporate world. I believe if someone desires a great career then INLEAD is the best place to be. Here you don't need to worry about your placement because the Institute invites top companies to visit the campus during Corporate Connect Week to pick the right talent for the right job.

It was a lot of fun even when we were learning the technicalities of the Program. I will forever hold the Institute, Faculty and Staff Members in high regards for everything they promised and delivered during my year at INLEAD. I still remember my first day in the Institute- I was worried about my future but I had a light of hope in me. There was a trust in the Management, faith and confidence in the course curriculum and the faculty teaching us. The Faculty at INLEAD is personally involved in making us the best of who we can become. What touched my heart the most was when I got my Placement Letter from Aviva Life Insurance with a INR 5 Lac package after the completion of my Program, I was happy but my Faculty was happier than me! That is something you don’t expect and see in any other Institute.

Everything about the Institute is great! The Management is very friendly and approachable to all. The Office of Student Affairs supports and counsels the students every step of the way. INLEAD campus is matchless and it has world class architecture and facilities. All I can say that being a student of INLEAD is something that changed my life completely and I really feel proud to say that I am a part of INLEAD.

INLEAD students Lead the way in Commonwealth Games

During the Commonwealth Games, associated Chambers of Commerce, Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), India is going to get around USD 16,915 million this year from tourism alone. It is also speculated that foreign tourists in India would increase from 5 percent to around 10 percent in October alone this year.

As per ASSOCHAM, the games could result in 10 million additional foreign tourists visiting India leading to more employment. This need can be met by our Hospitality Operations Management Program which equips young professionals. Hospitality Program offer a wide range of career choices in the hospitality and services industry that include – but not limited to – hotels & resort management; airlines ground staff; catering management; and corporate travel management amongst others.

The students are offered 100% placement assistance along with on-the-job training in one of the ITDC hotels. We provide hostel and transport facilities along with financial aid from Punjab National Bank to ease their way into a successful career.

ITDC has offered our students a unique opportunity to be a part of the Commonwealth Games. and have appointed the students to take up key roles at Akshardham Games Village Complex and DDA Vasant Kunj Complex with three star hotel facilities. Mr. P.K. Mathur, General Manager, ITDC says, “Apart from INLEAD students being the face of Incredible India, this will give them a tremendous exposure in handling VIP guests.”

Taking its cue from ITDC, the Organizing Committee of Commonwealth Games has also approached our students to be a part of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Ms. Purnima Pendse, Assistant Director General, Ceremonies, believes that this opportunity will, “Add great value to INLEAD students as they would get a detailed insight into practical on-ground work and operations.” The organizing Committee is impressed by the students’ knowledge, skills and experience in the field of hospitality and event management and has even asked us to exempt the August 2010 batch from their on-the-job training with ITDC for this opportunity.

INLEAD and SRCC join hands

We with the objective to provide our students a unique academic learning and experience have entered into an Academic Partnership with Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC). Dr. Sangeeta Parijaat, Chief Operating Officer, explained, “INLEAD has joined hands with one of the top colleges of Delhi University because we both believe in providing our students with exceptional cultural and scholarly interactions with industry leaders.”

SRCC is a brand institution dedicated to commerce and economics in the country and has been serving educational needs in almost all spheres of academics, society, economy, journalism and media for more than eight decades. Dr. P C Jain, Principle, SRCC believes, “SRCC and INLEAD share a common vision of academic excellence and will strive to train its students to become skilled and experienced professionals that are ready to face the challenges of the corporate world.” The two institutes have a long list of industry connections and will be working together to make academic programs at both institutes more dynamic and industry-relevant.

This academic partnership will give the faculty of both institutes an opportunity to work together on research & development projects and exchange teaching materials and statistical data for case studies. Ours and SRCC academic staffs will develop joint teaching methods and participate in events, seminars and colloquiums for the collective benefit of the student community.

Mr. K. Parijaat, our Managing Director said, “We don’t just want to send out graduates into the industry, our students walk out of our campus as skilled and experienced individuals. This partnership will assist INLEAD to maintain the high standards of learning and development necessary to train students to the expected level of industry requirements.”
