During the Commonwealth Games, associated Chambers of Commerce, Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), India is going to get around USD 16,915 million this year from tourism alone. It is also speculated that foreign tourists in India would increase from 5 percent to around 10 percent in October alone this year.
As per ASSOCHAM, the games could result in 10 million additional foreign tourists visiting India leading to more employment. This need can be met by our Hospitality Operations Management Program which equips young professionals. Hospitality Program offer a wide range of career choices in the hospitality and services industry that include – but not limited to – hotels & resort management; airlines ground staff; catering management; and corporate travel management amongst others.
The students are offered 100% placement assistance along with on-the-job training in one of the ITDC hotels. We provide hostel and transport facilities along with financial aid from Punjab National Bank to ease their way into a successful career.
ITDC has offered our students a unique opportunity to be a part of the Commonwealth Games. and have appointed the students to take up key roles at Akshardham Games Village Complex and DDA Vasant Kunj Complex with three star hotel facilities. Taking its cue from ITDC, the Organizing Committee of Commonwealth Games has also approached our students to be a part of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Ms. Purnima Pendse, Assistant Director General, Ceremonies, believes that this opportunity will, “Add great value to INLEAD students as they would get a detailed insight into practical on-ground work and operations.” The organizing Committee is impressed by the students’ knowledge, skills and experience in the field of hospitality and event management and has even asked us to exempt the August 2010 batch from their on-the-job training with ITDC for this opportunity.
