Hospital Managment: Industry Expert Session (Mr. Mehernosh B.Dittia)


Hospital management courseINLEAD conducted an Industry Expert Session for April and October 2012 HCA batch students on 27th November 2012. The session was conducted by Mr. Mehernosh B.Dittia, V P - Talent Development, Max Healthcare. The topic of the session was Quality Professionals in Healthcare Industry and helped students to understand how customers today are more aware of eminent services and are ready to pay a price for it to make sure they get an environment at par with an upscale hotel property. Mr. Dittia is a senior professional with over 22 years of working experience in Sales, Customer Care, Service Excellence and Quality, SOPs, HR & Training with organizations of high repute. Mr. Dittia completed his management education from Xavier Institute of Management and Institute of Marketing & Management. He has worked extensively in Healthcare Industry and brings with him, invaluable corporate insights from the Healthcare industry.


hospital management instituteMr. Dittia’s presented a number of healthcare industry stats that helped students to get aware of the immense potential that this industry has for the upcoming healthcare professionals. Throughout the session Mr. Dittia emphasized on the fact that attitude and communication are two very important qualities required in an administrator’s job profile. According to him quality service is all about increasing the quality of interaction that a patient has with a healthcare provider during his stay in the hospital. The session helped students to understand that from an administrator’s perspective it is his/her duty to take care of the patients Psychological and Emotional state apart from the physical well being. He feels that Patient Relations is an important part in an administrator job profile, as in the end they are the ambassadors of your healthcare organization. By and large the entire session was reasonably interactive and Mr. Dittia shared some valuable inputs about the quality professionals with the students from both the batches.

Healthcare Administration: Industry Expert Session (Mr. Vikram Anand)


INLEAD conducted an Industry Expert Session for April and October 2012 HCA batch students on 23rd November 2012. The session was conducted by Mr. Vikram Anand, Principal & Head – Operations, IMS Consulting.  Mr. Vikram has over 15 years of experience in healthcare, starting out as administrator where he led efforts to build teams and capacity for a 300 bed charitable hospital in Mumbai. Prior to IMS he has held leadership roles with large organizations, including Deloitte Consulting and Aga Khan Health Services. He has been involved with the entire healthcare delivery life-cycle, from inception to operations, in several premier institutions across India and the MEA region.

The topic of the session was Industry Orientation and Expectation and it helped students from both the batches in understanding the current industry trends and the significant role which is being played by both public and private sector in giving a thrust to this Healthcare Sector and transform it into a rewarding field. Mr. Vikram’s presentation was coupled with some vital healthcare industry facts and as well as the opportunities and the challenges that lies ahead in the future for the Healthcare Professionals. According to him, being in the service Industry the focus of an organization should always be providing the quality services to the end user. His session also helped students to be aware of the scarcity of skilled manpower that has generated in the Healthcare Sector and is need to be taken care of. On the whole the session was interactive and helped students to gain some insights about this ever-growing industry.

Management Student: Lead Activity - Cinerama (For October 2012 Batch)


INLEAD conducted a LEAD Activity – Cinerama for October 2012 batch on 7th November 2012 as a part of a Orientation Week. Five teams were carved out from the batch, with each team working independently to conceptualize, develop, script, organize and enact a 20 minute skit. Students had to keep all the elements of entertainment like humor, emotions, tragedy, drama, music, songs, dance sequences etc. to give the necessary flavor required for a masala film. By using their creative wits, teams had came up with some unique movie names like Vanishing Daughters, Chicken Dhokla, Lo Kar Lo Baat, Sohni Mahiwal and FIR.  All these acts were evolved on various parameters like team coordination, storyline, creativity, time management, audience entertainment, dialogue delivery and expressions. The skits were very well performed; however the one that contained all the elements and came across shining in terms of parameters that were being used was F.I.R.

International Hotel Management: Industry Expert Session (Mr. Sanjay Pandita)

INLEAD conducted an Industry Expert Session for July and October 2012 IHM batches on 6th November 2012. The session was conducted by Mr. Sanjay Pandita, Banquet Manager at Crowne Plaza. Mr. Pandita has over a decade of experience in hospitality industry and has an in depth knowledge of managing Front Office and F&B departments in a Hotel. He has completed his graduation from Srinivas College of Hotel management. He started his career with The Oberoi’s and then moved on to work in some of the renowned organizations like The Westin, Leela Kempinski and Al Murooj Rotana Hotel and Suites in Dubai.

 The topic of the session was Industry Orientation and Corporate Expectation and it helped students from both the batches in understanding the current industry trends and the different employability options that are being available in the relatively lucrative Hotel Industry. Mr. Pandita made it a very interactive session by including various activities in between the session that helped students to get to know some of the interesting facts about the hotel Industry.

Throughout the session Mr. Sanjay Pandita shared his key learning’s and as well as his life experiences with the students. His interaction with the students regarding international exposure, lifestyle and work environment helped in spreading the knowledge which in turn enabled them to get an insight about the International Hotel Industry. Mr. Pandita also touched upon different career prospects that are available both for the fresher’s and the professionals having some work experience. He also shared various interview preparation tips that will ultimately help the students who are currently undergoing various interview rounds with some International Organizations. On the whole the entire session was interactive and informative and helped students to understand the functioning of hotel industry from region to region all around the world.
