INLEAD
conducted an Industry Expert Session for April and October 2012 HCA batch
students on 23rd November 2012. The session was conducted by Mr.
Vikram Anand, Principal & Head – Operations, IMS Consulting. Mr. Vikram has over 15 years of experience in
healthcare, starting out as administrator where he led efforts to build teams
and capacity for a 300 bed charitable hospital in Mumbai. Prior to IMS he has
held leadership roles with large organizations, including Deloitte Consulting
and Aga Khan Health Services. He has been involved with the entire healthcare
delivery life-cycle, from inception to operations, in several premier
institutions across India and the MEA region.
The
topic of the session was Industry Orientation and Expectation and it helped
students from both the batches in understanding the current industry trends and
the significant role which is being played by both public and private sector in
giving a thrust to this Healthcare Sector and transform it into a rewarding field.
Mr. Vikram’s presentation was coupled with some vital healthcare industry facts
and as well as the opportunities and the challenges that lies ahead in the
future for the Healthcare Professionals. According to him, being in the service
Industry the focus of an organization should always be providing the quality
services to the end user. His session also helped students to be aware of the
scarcity of skilled manpower that has generated in the Healthcare Sector and is
need to be taken care of. On the whole the session was interactive and helped
students to gain some insights about this ever-growing industry.
